Net Worth Update June 2017

It is time to publish my a new Net Worth update and as I said the last time I will do this on quarterly base form now on, as it does not make that much sense for me to publish my changes in the Net Worth every single month. Also currently I have to admit, that my Net Worth relies too much on my portfolio and with the current development of the USD my overall Net Worth is suffering a bit. All in all my in June my total Net Worth was at 63 049.71 EUR.

To avoid any misunderstandings, just a brief overlook what I am including in my Net Worth calculation. I will not include my assets as I haven’t had a real look at them so at the beginning it consists only of my liquid assets.

  • Investments
  • Checking Account
  • Saving Account
  • Cash
  • ETF’s
  • Debt

As you see no house or home as I am paying a monthly rent.

Net Worth June

  1. Value Portfolio: 50 529.65 EUR
  2. Cash: 12 520.06 EUR
  3. Debt: currently no debt 🙂

All in all my Net Worth by the end of June was at 63 049.71 EUR..

As you can see the development of my Net Worth in the last 2 months was quite positive and I finally managed it grow my cash position to more than 10 000 EUR, which was one of my major goals in the last months. It is just a better feeling to have an emergency fund which is a above the 10 000 EUR mark. Nevertheless the value of my portfolio is currently struggling because of the weakening USD. Just to give you an example if the exchange rate were at 1.08 USD, my current Net worth would be 2 400 EUR higher. But yeah over the long term this will not be a big factor at all :).

At the beginning of the year I set my goal to reach a Net Worth of 80 000 EUR by the end of the year. This is still my goal but after the first half of the year, more realistically will be a Net Worth of 75 000 EUR by the end of the year. Nevertheless the Net Worth is not that important in the first place, it just gives you a positive feeling to have a high one :). My most important goals are to increase my projected full year dividend to 1 700 EUR and to have an emergency fund of 15 000 EUR by the end of the year. Currently these numbers are at 1 373.96 EUR yearly dividend income and 12 520.06  EUR in my emergency fund. This goals are still very realistic and considering a yield of 3.0% after tax I need to do investments until the end of the year of around 9 000 EUR.

How much passive income am I generating out of it?

Investment: 1 373.96 EUR

Checking and Saving Account: 15.65 EUR

So in total  1 389.61 EUR

This is still not a lot and compared to April it is an increase of around 50 EUR, so still a long way to go to reach financial freedom.

All in all I am quite happy with the development of my Net Worth, and especially that I was able to increase my cash position. I am also more than happy with my yearly dividend income with July I managed it that my monthly dividend income is the 5th month in a row in triple digits and this is my most important goal. In July I also finally initiated a small position with p2p lending, and I am already curious how this journey will be like.

So as you can see there is a lot of stuff going on my passive income journey…

How is your Net Worth development until June? How often do you track your Net Worth?

  1. Very nicely done. I like that you are 100% liquid. I’ve been on a mission to get my liquid vs. non-liquid assets to be on par. Obviously very difficult when there is a company match on the retirement accounts, but still a nice goal to have.

Keep up the great work. I like seeing the progress every month!
